Hello, I have downloaded the X86 version of Vista 3 times. Twice with the provided download manager. Once with Flashget download manager.
First try hang @80% fatal error after trying to resume 20 times. Second try hang @99% 3.12 gig same deal.
Third try with Flashget hang @ 99% 3.12gig (3276640KB of 3276952KB) 312KB short of completion.
Flashget is not reporting a fatal Error and is hammering away at the server but the server refuses to give up the last 312 KB. I can Pause and resume till the cows come home yet the server still refuses the last 312KB.
I can start a new download of Vista and have no problem getting a connection and file transfer.
I have tried turning on/off Norton ,Windows Firewall, Paused and Resumed over and over, Lowered the # of connections to 1, Lowered the bandwidth, Disabled and Re-enabled the network connection, Rebooted, waited till 3am to try again, yet still no response from the server for my last 312 KB.
Flashget is on the 86th retry to get the server to respond to the request since last time I paused and restarted the download.
Questions: Is there a mirror site with a different server I can enter into my download manager? Is the download file size information incorrect to the actual file size? Is the download server set to limit the amount of data transfer per IP address? Is the file on the server incomplete or corrupted?
Any suggestions (Besides order the DVD set, and try again).
I googled this problem and I am not the only one with this issue. I have yet to find a solution.
Seems to me if Bandwidth traffic is an issue with vista beta 2 one of the main causes would be the fact that the download hangs at 3.12 gigs with around .5 meg to go (or fails with a fatal error @ 80% to 99% with provided DLM) .
I have personally transferred over 9 gigs and still have an incomplete file to install. -- Twisted ;Þ
